Our Lady of the Island Shrine
Long Island’s only place of Pilgrimage in honor of Mary
Saint Louis de Montfort often organized groups to make journeys and pilgrimages to Marian shrines in France to pray for specific needs, usually vocations to the priesthood and missionary religious life.
Following upon this core element of our heritage the Montfort Missionaries in the USA organized the Shrine to Our Lady of the Island. It is a unique place where the faithful have come for over 30 years to implore Mary’s intercession and guidance. Located toward the eastern end of Long Island it is the only shrine to Our Lady in the area and has helped countless numbers of pilgrims come closer to Jesus through Mary.
